Actress, family hurt in crash

SEREMBAN: Actress and producer Nasreen Ngasri, her mother and her sister were injured when their car smashed into the rear of a lorry at Km247 of the North-South Expressway yesterday.

They were travelling from Johor Baru to Kuala Lumpur when the incident occurred about 7.30am near the Senawang rest area.

The lorry driver escaped injuries despite his vehicle ending up on its side.

Nasreen, better known as Darling, suffered head and neck injuries, her mother Habibah Jaafar, 53, had leg and face injuries, while 14-year-old sister Norsuhada had injuries to the body.

All were treated at the Tuanku Ja'afar Hospital. Another sister, Nasriah, and husband Abdul Wafi Hassan later transferred them to the Tawakal Hospital in Kuala Lumpur.
State traffic police chief Assistant Superintendent Halil Hamzah said the accident occurred after Nasreen lost control of her car.

"The victim lost control of the car because of the slippery conditions at the time."
